Following up on CNBC’s new graphics, an insider says:

“The funny thing about their new graphics is CNBC Pres. Mark Hoffman spent more than $2 million dollars to graphics guru Randy Pyburn to redo the look last year. Now he’s throwing them out in favor of a no-cost, in-house redo…”

> Update: 4:57pm: A CNBC spokesperson responds: “CNBC isn’t ‘throwing out’ anything. CNBC, as you accurately headlined, is refreshing its graphics. And not its entire graphics, either. Just its ‘lower third.'”
