ABC’s This Week Picks Up First Season Demo Win Since ’93-94

By Brian Flood

ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos was the top-rated Sunday public affairs program among the key A25-54 demo for the 2014-15 season. It’s This Week’s first demo victory in 21 years – since the 1993-94 season. CBS’s Face the Nation, moderated for the first part of the season by Bob Schieffer and the second by John Dickerson won the season in total viewers. This was FTN’s strongest season among total viewers since the advent of people meters (at least the 1987-1988 television year). FTN follows CBS Sunday Morning in most markets. That show just finished its best season on record as well.

NBC’s Meet the Press with Chuck Todd finished second in total viewers and third in the demo for the 2014-15 season. But MTP has beaten This Week in total viewers for nine consecutive weeks.
