ABC’s Rachel Martin Returns to Radio

TVNewser has learned ABC News White House correspondent Rachel Martin is returning to her radio roots at NPR. In an email from NPR senior national editor Steve Drummond, obtained by TVNewser it was announced that Martin will “focus on a mix of military and intelligence issues” for NPR.

Martin joined ABC in July 2008 where she covered the White House and national security. She’s leaving ABC to join NPR, and is not among those cut in ABC’s current reorganization.

Before ABC, Martin worked for NPR reporting from Berlin for the Foreign Desk and covered religion on the National Desk. She was also part of the NPR team that covered the Virginia Tech massacre in 2007.

In his email, Drummond writes, “Those like me who’ve worked with Rachel know that she’s an aggressive reporter, a gifted writer and a great colleague. I know she’ll hit the ground running.”
