ABC Renews The View for 20th Season

ABC News president James Goldston has announced The View will return for a 20th season, and Candi Carter has been officially named executive producer.

“This season The View has once again been at the very heart of the political conversation and cultural conversation in America,” Goldston said in a statement. “Candi and the team have worked tirelessly to make The View the place to be heard for an impressive roster of celebrities, politicians and people in the news.”

Carter, a veteran of the Oprah Winfrey Show, joined The View last August as interim show runner, upon the departure of executive producer Bill Wolff.

2015 was quite a year for The View, starting in February when Rosie O’Donnell departed for a second time–in this case, after just six months.

Raven-Symoné was named a co-host in June, followed by the arrival of comedian Michelle Collins a month later, while Nicolle Wallace and Rosie Perez signed off.

The start of season 19 marked Joy Behar‘s return, and the arrival of Good Morning America weekend co-anchor Paula Faris and former child actor Candace Cameron Bure.
