ABC Produces ‘Quit To Live’ Ads Featuring Bush, Armstrong, Clinton, Gates, McCain, O’Reilly, Gibson, Koppel, Sawyer, Walters…

“As part of World News Tonight’s unprecedented series on smoking cessation and lung cancer prevention, ABC News has produced a campaign with well-known figures from politics, sports, business, media and entertainment encouraging smokers to ‘Quit to Live,'” the network announced yesterday. Participants include President George Bush, Dr. Maya Angelou, Lance Armstrong, Tom Brady, Kenny Chesney, Senator Hillary Clinton, Geena Davis, Bill Gates, John Madden, Senator John McCain, Al Michaels, Bill O’Reilly, former Secretary of State Colin Powell, Rev. Al Sharpton, and Christy Turlington.

ABC News anchors include Chris Cuomo, Charles Gibson, Ted Koppel, Cynthia McFadden, Terry Moran, John Quinones, Robin Roberts, Diane Sawyer, Kate Snow, George Stephanopoulos, John Stossel, Diana Sawyer, Elizabeth Vargas, Barbara Walters, Bill Weir, and Bob Woodruff.

“The spot encourages viewers to call 1-800-QUIT-NOW, the North American Quitline Consortium’s national network of quitlines,” the press release adds. “The campaign will run throughout November on the ABC Television Network as well as in commercial spots on other networks.” Click here to view the video…
