ABC News is launching “ABC News Goes Pink,” a month-long “wake-up call and conversation starter” in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. The series will kick off with a full day of coverage across all the network’s platforms on October 1.

ABC News president Ben Sherwood called the program a “very important initiative.” “ABC News Goes Pink will help educate and empower millions of Americans to assess their individual risks and to take charge of their health along with their doctors,” he said in a statement.

John Green will be the executive producer of the series. Geralyn Lucas and Tomomi Arikawa, both breast cancer survivors, are the coordinating producers. Watch the promo after the jump.
