“ABC News is merging its long-form documentary unit with its production unit to form ABC News All Media, a team that will produce content for various platforms both inside and out of the network,” David Westin announced this morning.
The documentary unit “has developed and produced such innovative series and award-winning programs as Hopkins 24/7, NYPD 24/7, Jesus, Mary and Da Vinci and Vanished,” ABC says. And ABC News Productions “develops and produces a wide variety of programming for a number of cable TV networks.”
Rudy Bednar, currently the EP of long-form docs, will serve as EP and director of the new team. He will report to Phyllis McGrady. (Lisa Zeff, the EP of ABC News Productions, will report to Bednar.)
