In May, ABC Family announced it had acquired reruns of the NBC/DirecTV series “Friday Night Lights,” now the cable network has formally added it to its schedule.
The series will be stripped on ABC Family at 6 PM starting Tuesday September 7. It will run chronologically from there.
“Friday Night Lights” just ended its fifth-and final-season on NBC. ABC Family has the off-network rights to all five seasons.

The show is based on the book of the same name by Buzz Bissinger.
