A Year After Katrina: NBC To Air Primetime Documentary By Brian Williams

Of the three broadcast networks, NBC is the only one producing a primetime special dedicated to the first anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. “Katrina: The Long Road Back” will air on Aug. 28 at 8pm. Brian Williams will anchor the documentary.

The Oct. 2005 Sundance special “In His Own Words: Brian Williams on Hurricane Katrina” will air commercial free during the hour.

NBC says “the special will also provide an in-depth look at a community’s reaction to the destruction, as well as the discovery of the forgotten people in the New Orleans Convention Center. In addition, Williams will update viewers on many of the people he met while in the Superdome to see how their lives have been dramatically altered over the past year.”
