This morning on Today, Meredith Vieira told viewers, “We want to tell you why Al Roker has been gone for much of this week. Sadly, his mother Isabelle (Roker) passed away on Monday after a long illness. She was 73 years old. Take that back: 73 years young.”
Added Matt Lauer, “Isabelle was a pistol! Anybody who knew Isabelle will tell you she was a great lady, terrific sense of humor… she was a terrific lady…
“Our thoughts are with Al and his family and she will be missed…and hopefully Al will be back with us very soon. Al, we’re thinking of you.”
