Outgoing Early Show co-host Rene Syler tells Ed Bark what really happened:
“They called me in and told me, ‘We’ve been thinking and we want to go in another direction.’ I’m really kind of surprised myself at how well I’m handling all of this. I’ve just come to realize that these things happen. I’ve been in television for almost 20 years, and what are you gonna do?
New management comes in and they have new ideas. You pick up the playbook and you try your best. And if it doesn’t work, you move on… It’s a little bit tough, because you try to be a good soldier. Still, there are times when you’re sitting in your office, and your self-esteem is a bit battered.”
