’60 Minutes’ (at just 35 Minutes) Has Biggest Audience in 4 Years

“60 Minutes” — which wasn’t quite 60 minutes — made Nielsen’s Top 10 list for the third consecutive week, landing at #2 with 19.63 million total viewers, its largest audience in four years. The show got a boost from the overtime Dallas Cowboys – Pittsburgh Steelers game and was shortened to about 35 minutes in half the country due to live coverage of Pres. Obama’s address at a memorial service in Newtown, CT which began at 8:35pmET

The show featured Scott Pelley’s report on the massacre in Newtown and Lesley Stahl’s story on the largest marine salvage operation ever undertaken to float the wreck of the Costa Concordia.

The CBS News magazine also finished at #2 for the week in households and in Adults 25-54 (6.7/15).
