60 Minutes Is Ticking in First Place

60 Minutes is delivering the most viewers of any non-sports show on primetime television.

Boosted by big numbers for the NFL on CBS 4:25 p.m. ET national presentation of the Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals (a rematch of last season’s AFC Championship), the Dec. 4 edition of 60 Minutes ended up being the week’s top-rated non-sports primetime program, not only in total viewers, but also in A25-54 and even A18+. This past Sunday’s broadcast drew 10.5 million viewers, with 10.1 million over 18 and 2.4 million in the TV news A25-54 demo, according to Nielsen live plus same day data.

Sunday’s broadcast featured Bill Whitaker’s interview with French President Emmanuel Macron; Scott Pelley’s report on restoring Gorongosa National Park after decades of war; and Jon Wertheim’s story on Shane Van Boening and the changing world of professional pool.
