Homeless school kids, polar bears and Christopher Hitchens.

That combination of stories put “60 Minutes” in the top 10 again this week. The show drew 12.24 million total viewers Sunday night, winning its time period and finishing as the 8th most-watched show of the week. Scott Pelley’s report on homeless school children in Central Florida attracted hundreds of offers to help from as far away as Japan and the story was the most-watched video on CBSNews.com Monday, thanks to social media referrals which were 38% above normal.
