“Continued free streaming video success, strong breaking news coverage and innovations such as podcasting have solidified MSNBC.com’s position among the top Current Events & Global News destinations during June 2005, according to Nielsen//NetRatings,” an MSNBC.com press release said today. “MSNBC.com had 23.8 million unique users during June 2005, beating CNN.com for the 4th consecutive month.” Read some of their traffic statistics after the jump…




> London attacks: “MSNBC.com notified consumers of the London explosions via email alert more than 45 minutes before CNN.com’s breaking news alert. MSNBC.com reported 10.3 million unique users on the day of the bombings and over 51 million page views, with a 400% increase in international traffic.”

> “The July 7th bombings in London, which generated 4.4 million on-demand video streams of NBC News coverage of the event throughout the day on MSNBC.com.”
