48 Hours To Celebrate In Style

By Alissa Krinsky

The recent 20th anniversary of CBS’ 48 Hours will be celebrated tonight with a party in Manhattan. The bash is expected to draw some big names from the television news world.

CBS Corp. President/CEO Leslie Moonves is scheduled to be on hand and so is 48 Hours EP Susan Zirinsky. Other notables slated to attend include numerous 48 Hours alumni:
• Sony Corporation Chairman Sir Howard Stringer, 48 Hours‘ creator
60 MinutesLesley Stahl, who used to anchor the show
• Former CBS News President — and first 48 Hours EP — Andrew Heyward
Lyne Pitts, once a 48 Hours producer and now VP of NBC News
Good Morning America EP Jim Murphy, a former senior producer of the program
Alex Wallace, now EP of NBC Nightly News, a former 48 Hours producer

48 Hours is the third longest-running prime time network show on TV, behind only CBS’ 60 Minutes and ABC’s 20/20.
