Before last night’s News and Documentary Emmy Awards “48 Hours” editor Doreen Schechter got a bouquet of flowers and well wishes from her fellow nominees: five men, all colleagues who are editors on “60 Minutes.”
“Good luck, we’re all rooting for you,” the card read.
Well, it seems to have worked. Schechter, a 32-year CBS News veteran, picked up her first Emmy last night for Outstanding News Editing for an episode of the 6-part “Brooklyn DA” series produced by “48 Hours.”

The “60 Minutes” editors are said to be “over the moon” that Schechter won. So is her 89-year-old father Harvey Schechter, who made it to the Lincoln Center event last night in his tuxedo.
