2015 TVNewser March Madness Bracket Challenge: ‘Sweet 16’

By Brian Flood

We’re down to the “Sweet 16,” as this past weekend produced some bracket-busting upsets in the 2015 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. Virginia, Kansas and Villanova have all been eliminated, while Kentucky looks unstoppable.

As always, the TVNewser Bracket Challenge is going to be a tight race. The CNBC team is currently dominating, with “Closing Bell” co-anchor Bill Griffeth, “Squawk Box” and “Squawk on the Street” senior EP Matt Quayle and “Squawk Box” EP Sandy Cannold tied for first place. Cannold has the best chance to win among the three, as Quayle and Griffeth had Villanova reaching the Final Four.

The father-son combo of Steve and Peter Doocy are actually tied for 29th place. TVNewser Bracket Challenge defending champion Chad Myers is in 20th place. Notable contestants Jim Cramer, Bill Weir, Don Lemon, Erin Burnett, Andrew Sorkin and a particular TVNewser editor didn’t fare so well… but it’s a long tournament. The next round of competition begins Thursday.
