Updated: CBS Owns Sunday With 19.7 Million Grammys Viewers

It was no contest on Sunday, with The 51st Annual Grammy Awards lifting CBS to a hefty advantage of 8.29 million viewers and 86 percent among adults 18-49 over second-place ABC, according to the fast affiliate results from Nielsen Media Research.

The 51st Annual Grammy Awards averaged a considerable 19.67 million viewers and a 7.6 rating/18 share in the demo from 8-11 p.m., finishing a solid first in every half hour.

Compared to the year-ago telecast (Viewers: 17.17 million; A18-49: 6.5/16 on Feb. 10, 2008), this was an increase of 2.5 million viewers and 17 percent among adults 18-49.
