Clear Channel Communications had half of the nation’s top-10 billing stations in 2008, according to BIAfn. CBS Radio had three and Bonneville International and Emmis Communications each claimed one.

Five of the stations, KFI-AM, KIIS-FM, KPWR-FM, KROQ-FM and KOST-AM, were in Los Angeles, and four, WCBS-AM, WINS-AM, WHTZ-FM and WLTW-FM, were in New York. Together, these 10 stations had $521.6 million in revenues.

Contemporary Hit Radio/Top 40 KIIS topped the list, billing $66.3 million in 2008, a slight improvement from the $65.9
