Syfy tapped fans to help scare its audience during the Halloween season by creating network promos that pay homage to classic horror moments.
The four winning 10- to 15-second animated videos, selected as part of Syfy’s ongoing “For the Fans, By the Fans” partnership with content creation platform Tongal, will begin airing on Syfy today and will also appear on its digital channels and syfy.com.
Each spot incorporates moments from famous horror films, including Annabelle, The Blair Witch Project and Halloween, before revealing the Syfy logo in an unexpected way.
Tongal asked its creative community of more than 160,000 writers, directors and animators to pitch ideas for the animated spots.
