MTV has never been shy about pushing the boundaries of taste and propriety.

So it’s no surprise the cable network has made a U.S. version of the British teen drama Skins, a series which quickly earned notoriety in the U.K. for its explicit portrayal of sexual behavior and drug use.
 
Correspondent Alan Frutkin spoke wth Scottish-born executive producer Bryan Elsley, who co-created the original series; and oversaw production on the U.S. version, which premieres Monday, January 17.
