Opposition to NBCU-Comcast Intensifies

The Coalition for Competition in Media, a group that opposes Comcast’s bid to acquire 51 percent of NBC Universal, is ramping up its lobbying efforts with letters to the National Association of Attorneys General and five state attorneys general in California, New York, Oregon, Florida and Washington.

The letters, posted today, call for a close review of the proposed acquisition that “would cause a media monopoly that results in higher prices for consumers and more limited access to programming.”
