Nat Geo Channel Taps Dancer for Senior VP Post

National Geographic Channel has upped Brad Dancer to senior vp of research & digital media. A member of the original NGC launch team, Dancer joined the company in May 2000, some eight months before the network went live.

Most recently, Dancer served as vp, research & digital media. He reports to Steve Schiffman, general manager and executive vp.

Meanwhile, Bridget Whalen has been elevated to vp of development, co-productions & acquisitions, up from executive director of development. Prior to joining NGC in 2004, Whalen was director of development at Michael Hoff Productions, where she supervised the development of non-fiction projects for a number of networks, including NGC, Discovery Channel and History.

She reports to Steve Burns, executive vp of content.

Also landing a promotion: Lisa Clark, who was named vp of consumer marketing & media strategy. Clark joined NGC in 2006, after serving as director of media planning and interstitial strategy at TV Land/Nick at Nite.
