Michelle Nader, the writer behind NBC’s adaptation of Australian comedy Kath & Kim, has signed a two-year deal with Universal Media Studios.

Under terms of the deal, Nader will focus on executive producing Kath & Kim. Earlier this past season, NBC announced it would take the project–starring Molly Shannon and Selma Blair–straight to series with a six-episode order, foregoing the pilot process entirely. More recently, the network expanded that order to 13.

The series stars Shannon as a divorcee, and Blair as her daughter.
