MTVN’s Logo Eyes Traveler Traffic With New GLBT Site

MTV Networks’ Logo network on May 1 will launch, a Web site designed to cater to the travel needs of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) community.
The new site will provide a collection of reviews and destination guides for various GLBT-friendly hotels, restaurants, nightlife spots and shopping areas in cities ranging from Key West to Madrid. It also will publish original travel-adventure stories, such as the South American-themed “Stranded on Volcano Island.” will launch with a sizable stock of video content. Among the clips available are basic reviews of select cities, like West Hollywood, Calif.; and a clip featuring nightclub promoters taking viewers through hotspots in Zurich, Switzerland.
Community will also be a focus of the site—users will be encouraged to submit their own recommendations and reviews and vote in polls.
Logo has signed on American Airlines, Travelocity and Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau as the initial sponsors of TripOutGayTravel. Travelocity will serve as the site’s official booking engine for those planning to purchase a trip.
