Remaking a classic isn’t easy. Producers walk a fine line between drawing in new viewers while not alienating older ones. And the folks behind CBS’s new Hawaii Five-0—Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Peter Lenkov—hope to do just that. The series stars Alex O’Loughlin (Moonlight, Three Rivers) as Det. Steve McGarrett, and Scott Caan (Entourage) as Det. Danny Williams.
At the Summer TCA tour, Kurtzman and Lenkov sat down with Mediaweek’s Alan Frutkin to talk about the remake.
