LIN TV Relaunches Web Sites With Fox Interactive Media

LIN TV is re-launching its TV station Web sites, becoming the first third-party digital publishing partner of Fox Interactive Media, a division of News Corp. On Monday (Oct. 20), LIN relaunched the Web sites for WPRI, LIN’s CBS affiliate in Providence, R.I. ( and WALA-TV, the Fox affiliate serving Mobile, Ala.-Pensacola, Fla. ( onto FIM’s digital platform.

The company’s more than 50 Web sites are set to launch over the next few weeks.
FIM is providing both back-end and front-end publishing services to LIN’s Web sites, including content management, video, contextual search and social networking. As part of the relationship, LIN also unveiled new Web site features including a new video player, a weather segment, and social networking capabilities.

“The usability of our new station Web sites has enhanced significantly, the technology and flexibility are far superior an we will have better control and more opportunities to monetize our Web sites,” said Robb Richter, senior vp of new media for LIN.

The new partnership between LIN and FIM ends LIN’s relationship with WorldNow.
