LIN TV, Comcast Reach Retrans Agreement

LIN TV and Comcast Corp. have reached a retransmission agreement for the carriage of LIN TV stations in 15 markets. The agreement, announced Thursday, June 12, covers both the analog and digital signals.

In addition, both companies will work together to build awareness of the Feb. 17, 2009 digital transition in Indianapolis, Ind.; Hartford, Conn.; Springfield, Mass.; Albuquerque, N.M.; and Grand Rapids, Mich.

“Now that we have a solid long-term carriage agreement in place, we can work on broadening and deepening our relationship to meet the new complexities of the digital world we cohabit,” said Vincent Sadusky, president and CEO of LIN TV.

Earlier Thursday, LIN TV said it had reached an agreement in principle with Charter Communications for the carriage of 11 TV stations in six markets.
