Liberman Broadcasting is continuing to buy stations to expand the reach of Estrella TV, the company’s newly launched Spanish-language TV network. On Monday (Feb. 22), the broadcaster announced it agreed to acquire a translator station in Chicago (W40BY) from Trinity Broadcasting Network for undisclosed terms. The deal, expected to close in second quarter, gives Liberman its ninth owned-and-operated Estrella TV station. The station is expected to begin airing Estrella programming as early as Spring.
Adding clearance in Chicago, the sixth-largest Hispanic market, increases the reach of Estrella TV to about 73 percent of the U.S.
