The 2017-18 TV season is now one month old, and while broadcast viewing is down double-digits across the 18-49 demo, a handful of new shows have already managed to stand out from the pack. But along with fall’s breakout freshman hits, several other new series already seemed destined for cancellation (though delayed-viewing numbers could change their fortunes).
Here’s our rundown of which five new fall shows are most likely to make it to next season—one has already been renewed—and which five (including one returning show) are headed for the TV graveyard:
UPDATE: Thursday afternoon, ABC announced that Ten Days in the Valley—included as one of the five shows most likely to be canceled—is being pulled from its Sunday time slot, effective immediately. The season’s remaining episodes will be burned off on Saturday nights, beginning Dec. 16.
