Fox Orders Wilmer Valderrama Pilot

Fox has ordered a one-hour comedy pilot starring That ’70s Show actor Wilmer Valderrama.

The project, titled The Emancipation of Ernesto, follows Valderrama’s character–an innocent of sorts, in the vein of Forrest Gump–as he searches Los Angeles for his father. Written by Emily Kapnek, who created ABC’s Emily’s Reasons Why Not, the single-cam comedy is produced by 20th Century Fox TV.

Should Fox pick up Ernesto, it would mark the network’s first one-hour comedy since Ally McBeal.
