As Fox prepares to give its hit competition series The Masked Singer a big audience boost with its post-Super Bowl time slot next month, the network is also expanding the franchise, ordering a spinoff series, The Masked Dancer.
Fox and Ellen DeGeneres are producing The Masked Dancer, inspired by a segment on DeGeneres’ The Ellen Show featuring celebrity contestants performing while disguised in elaborate costumes and masks. The network made the announcement at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour in Pasadena, Calif.
