ESPN Swipes Ratings Win in Prime

Buoyed by its coverage of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals, ESPN notched its first prime-time ratings win of 2008, averaging 3.07 million viewers for the week ended June 1.

According to Nielsen Media Research data, ESPN also took all three major demos, averaging 1.56 million adults 25-54, 1.54 million adults 18-49 and 767,000 18-34s. The sports net put up its biggest numbers on Friday night, as a national TV audience of 6.46 million viewers tuned in to see the Celtics clinch a berth in the NBA Finals with a 89-81 victory over the Pistons.
