ESPN Radio Boosts Coverage Ahead of Big Game

ESPN Radio’s Super Bowl coverage for the week leading up to the big game (Feb. 1-7) will include simulcasts and streaming of 10 hours daily (6 a.m.-4 p.m.) of its weekday lineup originating from South Beach in Miami.

Six advertising sponsors will support the unprecedented multimedia coverage, the most ever for ESPN Radio’s Super Week coverage, which last year signed four advertisers.

Dove and Tabasco have signed on as presenting sponsors. Flo TV, Miller High Life, H&R Block and JC Penney are associate sponsors. The six advertisers bought into a four-week package of on-air and online (both video and audio) that culminates with Super Week, which is as much an event as a broadcast.

“The broadcast is in a high-traffic area and sponsors also have opportunities for signage and giveaways,” said Mike Connolly, vp of ESPN audio network sales. “It’s a great way to be part of Super Week without paying an exorbitant amount of money.”

Coverage kicks off with Mike & Mike in the Morning (6 a.m.-10 a.m.) hosted by Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg. For the first time, two other ESPN Radio programs, The Herd With Colin Cowherd (10 a.m.-2 p.m.) and The Scott Van Pelt Show (2-4 p.m.), will also originate from Miami. All three programs will be streamed on and broadcast on ESPN cable channels, giving advertisers additional exposure.
