Go to the website, click on Ratings Box (the first category), then Last Night’s Results, and Monday, July 5, 2010. ________ -Ratings Breakdown: The Jake Pavelka/Vienna Girardi interview on The Bachelorette lifted ABC to metered market Monday victory, with a 12 percent advantage over second-place CBS. Look for ABC to also win the evening among coveted adults 18-49. In the distant No. 3 spot in the overnights was NBC, followed by Fox and The CW. The Bachelorette was above-average with a 6.4 rating/11 share in the overnights from 8-10 p.m., and peaking at 9:30 p.m. with a 7.0/11. While I am no fan of this nonsense (and I do hope this dies down soon), Jake showing his anger as sobbing Vienna tried to apologize made him look more like the villain. Speaking of nonsense, The Bachelorette led into True Beauty, which dipped to a second-place 3.4/ 6 at 10 p.m. Comparably, retention for True Beauty out of the 9:30 p.m. portion of The Bachelorette was only 49 percent. Second-place CBS had nothing unusual to report with its repeat combination of How I Met Your Mother (#2: 3.3/ 6), Rules of Engagement (#2: 3.8/ 6), Two and a Half Men (#2: 5.8/ 9), which always builds by double-digits, The Big Bang Theory (#2: 5.6/ 9) and CSI: Miami (#1: 5.2/ 9). Don’t forget that CSI: Miami moves to Sundays at 10 p.m. out of Undercover Boss this fall, while The Big Bang Theory is anchoring Thursday. Elsewhere, NBC’s Persons Unknown, which is moving to Saturday to burn-off its final episodes, finished third at 8 p.m. (tied with a repeat of Fox’s Lie to Me) with a 2.4/ 4 in the overnights. Passions star Blair Redford will join 90210 next season in the recurring role of a charming Brit who moves in with Ivy and her Mom. Comparably, retention out of the lead-in average (1.8/ 4) was only 44 percent, and the June 2009 time period average was a heftier 1.8/ 4.
