Air America Reorgs Sales

In contrast to the majority of media companies that are cutting back, Air America Media is beefing up its sales team to leverage the company’s radio, online and video platforms. The new sales organization, announced Thursday (Feb. 5) includes the addition of two new executives and the appointment of Scott Elberg as chief revenue officer.

As part of the sales expansion, the progressive Talk network plans to open a Washington, D.C. sales office later this year.

“With President Obama in office, progressive media is now the mainstream,” said Elberg, who has served as Air America’s chief operating officer since 2007.

To focus on Air America’s digital sales, Lory George has joined Air America as director of digital sales, from National Ad Force, where she served as vp of sales.

Terry Howard, previously director of unwired sales for Katz Radio Group in New York, was named account manager.

George and Howard join current Air America sales execs, Angela Loftus, vp of sponsorship sales and Joe Kenavan, vp and director of national and network sales.
