Adds ‘Green Room’ Microsite

ABC Family is the latest media company to plant some seeds in the relentless green movement.
The company has unveiled a microsite on titled the Green Room just in time for Earth Day (Apr. 22). The new microsite features reference information on subjects such as global warming as well as service information for users looking to adopt a more environmentally-friendly lifestyle.
In addition, ABC Family has tapped some of its core talent to contribute to Green Room. For example, a series of videos on the site features stars from the network’s original series The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Greek and participating in a local tree-planting event.
ABC Family has landed Almay Pure Blends as the sponsor of Green Room. The cosmetics brand is running a variety of banner ads and video spots featuring the actress Leslie Bibb (Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby).
Of course, Green Room is joining a content category that may already nearing saturation. Besides leaders such as Yahoo and MSN, both of which maintain well-trafficked green-themed channels, Green Room is also covering similar ground to Hearst’s The Daily Green and Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive’s soon-to-be defunct
