ABC Picks Up French TV Adaptation

More proof the networks increasingly are looking overseas for content: ABC has picked up an adaptation of French TV comedy Don’t Do This, Don’t Do That.
A family comedy shot in documentary style, the French series airs on TV network France 2, but is owned by Sweden’s Sparks Network.
Stateside, Bob Kushell, co-executive producer of ABC’s Samantha Who?, will adapt and executive produce the series. Also on board to produce is Spain-based Promofilm U.S.
Earlier this week, reports surfaced that ABC is partnering with Canada’s CBC to bring the comedy 18 to Life into the states, too. Canadian series is a single-cam comedy in which two teens get married.
