Direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands are disrupting nearly every category of traditional retail. But surprisingly, there is very little data in the market on how consumers discover and engage with DTC brands. That’s why Rakuten Advertising decided to survey a diverse group of 1000 Americans who have purchased from a DTC brand. During her Challenger Brands breakout presentation, Julie Van Ullen, U.S. managing director for Rakuten, broke done the study’s findings to reveal what makes DTC brands and consumers tick.
