Key insights include:

  • Increased social ad spend: 51% of advertisers spent more than half of their ad budgets on social advertising.
  • A rise in Instagram advertising. 44% said that Instagram was their top social ad channel in terms of spend, and 46% said Instagram gave them the best ROAS.
  • A growing reliance on automation: 31% of respondents reported using automation for social media advertising (up from just 13% last year) and 73% automate at least part of their social media campaign creation process.
