Facebook CEO Zuckerberg Sics Beast On Viddy

Following Facebook’s sudden $1 billion acquisition of photo-sharing service Instagram earlier this month, any interest shown by Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg in other Internet companies was bound to get tongues wagging. Following Facebook’s sudden $1 billion acquisition of photo-sharing service Instagram earlier this month, any interest shown by Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg in other Internet companies was bound to get tongues wagging. And wagging is certainly featured in Zuckerberg’s first post to video-sharing app Viddy.

Zuckerberg joined Viddy this past weekend, posting a video of his dog, Beast, and setting off the speculation frenzy.

Although Zuckerberg said when announcing the Instagram acquisition that deals of that scope would not become a habit, posting, “We don’t plan on doing many more of these, if any at all,” the fact that the Facebook board of directors didn’t even know about his pursuit of Instagram leaves any possibility open.

Of course, Zuckerberg has also created profiles on rival social networks Twitter, Google Plus, and Pinterest, so Viddy is not necessarily in his cross hairs.
