Twitter Adds Verified Accounts
BayNewser’s got the latest on Twitter’s move to ‘Verified Accounts.’
Twitter co-founder Biz Stone announced the feature for celebrity tweeters on the Twitter blog Saturday. The account will contain a seal indicating authenticity.
“The experiment will begin with public officials, public agencies, famous artists, athletes, and other well known individuals at risk of impersonation,” wrote Stone on the company blog.
The program is currently in beta version, and will expand as Twitter receives more feedback.
Stone also responded to the Tony La Russa lawsuit.
