Twitpic Closing Down October 25th After Acquisition False Alarm

In early September Twitpic announced that it had decided to shutdown after a trademark conflict with Twitter.

Two weeks later the company tweeted that it would “live on”, reporting that it had been acquired. The mystery buyer was never unveiled.

Yesterday, Twitpic tweeted that it is now, definitely, shutting down, after the acquisition turned out to be a false alarm.

“It’s with a heavy heart that I announce again that Twitpic will be shutting down on October 25th,” writes founder Noah Everett on the Twitpic blog.
