The markets took some comfort in the news that the Democrats had regained control of Congress, with stocks increasing despite some uncertainty in the healthcare and defense sectors. The Dow closed the week up 123.27 points at 12,108.03, a 1 percent gain. The Nasdaq grew 48.06 points to close at 2,389.72, a 2 percent increase. Ad stocks also finished higher. Omnicom closed at 102.17, up nearly 2 percent. WPP increased nearly 3 percent to close at 64.88.
