Acqui-Hire? Video-Sharing Startup Switchcam Shuttered, Founders Working For Facebook

Add video-sharing startup Switchcam to the list of Facebook acquisitions and acqui-hires, as the company’s website says it has been shut down, and founders Chris Hartley and Bret Welch are now working for the social network, according to TechCrunch.

TechCrunch reported that Hartley began working as a product engineer at Facebook April 14, while Welch joined the company as a product manager last Monday.

According to TechCrunch, Switchcam launched in 2011 as Veokami with an app that allowed users to combine user-generated YouTube clips of concerts or events into multiangle videos, and the company launched an app last year enabling event organizers to let videographers record and merge their videos.

In February, according to TechCrunch, Switchcam began offering video analytics.
