Reader Evyatar Shpilman of The Shpilman shared the screenshots above and below, in which Facebook said of the ability to split ad sets:

Find the best audience for your ads by splitting your ad set. You’ll duplicate your ad set and the ads within it, but change the ad set’s target audience to see which performs best. Keep in mind this will create a new budget for the duplicate ad set.
