Snapchat Poaches Google Comms Exec
Snapchat has snagged a high-profile Google exec to head up its communications and policy efforts.
Jill Hazelbaker, the Googler who heads up communications and government relations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, is heading to Snapchat. The ephemeral messaging app snagged the exec to lead communications and policy amidst its expansion.
“Very excited to join the team at Snapchat — and thankful for my years at Google,” Hazelbaker said in an email to Recode confirming the move.
She was previously the senior director of corporate communications and public affairs at Google headquarters, and has worked on the campaigns of Michael Bloomberg (for re-election as mayor of New York) and John McCain (for president).
