How Pinterest's Place Pins Simplify Vacation Planning

Place Pins make easy the task of planning any vacation to the finest detail, with maps, restaurant phone numbers, and pictures of the beautiful beaches.

Pinterest has been on a roll lately. The social bulletin board was recently valued at $3.8 billion, released its API to retailers to drive integration, and now, it’s making a foray in the travel planning market with a new feature called Place Pins.

“Every day people Pin about 1.5 million places, and now there are more than 750 million Pins of these destinations on Pinterest,” the Pinterest blog post said. “Place Pins were designed to combine the beautiful imagery of a travel magazine with the utility of a map online so you can share it with friends.”

Pinned destinations can be integrated through Foursquare for easy access to user photos, addresses and phone numbers, so you’ll never forget where you wanted to go.
