Norton Debuts Two Free Facebook Safety Tools

Norton parent Symantec announced the release of two new free tools to help Facebook users avoid likejacking scams.

Norton parent Symantec announced the release of two new free tools to help Facebook users avoid likejacking scams.

Free app Norton Safe Web for Facebook scans users’ news feeds and weeds out security risks including phishing sites, malicious downloads, and links to unsafe external sites, as well as identifying web addresses and videos that pose the risk of likejacking attacks.

Users of the social network can also go to the Norton Facebook page to access the Norton Cybercrime Index, which updates its index number daily to reflect the threat level for each day, adding commentary and advice on looming security threats.

Norton said in a release:
